Bloating Relief
How to Speed Up Bloating Relief
Bloating relief is something most people seek after a large meal or after eating foods that their digestive systems are having a hard time breaking down. Relief will usually come after a bowel movement and there are certain things you can do to speed up that process.
For one thing, take a walk. Walking will encourage the colon muscles to get in gear and move the stool and gas along so you don’t feel “backed up”. The faster you can get your digestive system working, the faster you will find relief. Light exercise after a meal is known to improve the digestive process.
Eating Desert May Help Relieve Bloating
Another thing you can do to relieve bloating is to eat a dessert with a large content of fiber and fluids. Instead of saying, “No, I shouldn’t”, yes you should! Desserts full of apples, peaches, blueberries, etc… will help prevent constipation and give your digestive tract a boost. These foods are high in both fiber and fluids so your digestive system will have plenty of bulk and fluid to keep it moving.
Bloating relief can also come from over-the-counter products designed to reduce gas, increase the production of bulk or to soften stool. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about products before using them and avoid using them frequently as your digestive system can start becoming dependent on them.
As a general rule the best ways to get bloating relief are to “walk it off” and to include plenty of fibers and fluids in your meals. That includes the desserts you eat.
